Soul Travel Chronicles Vol. 7 - Miami, Florida USA
Miami is an incredible city. With a few more visits, it may become one of my favorite. The weather is always perfect, there are endless things to do and see, and the food is top notch. A weekend getaway or longer vacation trip in Miami with friends is definitely recommended.
Here are some tips and recommendations for visiting this beautiful city:
Getting To Miami
If you’re flying into Miami International Airport, take the hotel shuttle to your destination. Uber and Lyft is also available, but if you're looking to save a few dollars, this is definitely the way to go.
If you need a rental car or would like to explore the city, there are plenty of options available at this airport. Taxis are also available on site and can help you get to your destination safely and quickly with their door-to-door service.
Accommodation: YVE Hotel Miami
You will probably want to stay at a hotel, because South Beach is all about luxury. There are many different hotels to choose from and you can find one that fits your needs, budget and style.
We stayed at the The YVE Hotel Miami. It was centrally located, easy to explore the surrounding area, and had a beautiful view of the port to watch all of the cruise ships cycle in and out of the port.
The hotel was safe and the room felt comfortable. The amenities were clean and modest. It was not, by definition, a luxury hotel but it was absolutely perfect for what we needed.
Turista En La Ciudad:
Miami has been the backdrop for many films and television shows. From Scarface to CSI: Miami, this coastal city has played host to some of Hollywood's most popular productions. If you're planning a trip, here are some things that make Miami special:
Beaches. There are so many beaches around Miami that you can't really go wrong with any choice you make. The best option is South Beach, which is where most tourists stay during their time in town. It's known for its beautiful people and nightlife, but there are also miles of white sand all along the coast if you prefer something quieter.
Nightlife. There are plenty of nightclubs and bars throughout Miami Beach. We were out until 2-3 in the morning every night we were there.
Food. The food scene here is pretty diverse—you can find everything from Cuban cuisine to sushi restaurants and even vegan cafes! We stayed right along Bayside Marketplace and had some delicious meals next to the water.
Here are some recommendations:
If you're craving some nachos and margaritas, check out La Camaronera in Miami Beach. The atmosphere is festive but not too loud, and the food is delicious!
For those looking for something more upscale, check out Prato on South Beach. With an extensive wine list and inventive pastas, you'll leave feeling satisfied without breaking the bank.
Want a taste of authentic Cuban cuisine? Head over to Versailles Restaurant in Little Havana—it's one of the most popular spots in Miami!
Relax and Flow:
Miami is a city that loves to relax. If you want to take it easy and spend the day on the beach, there are plenty of places to do so. The beaches in Miami are beautiful, but they can also be extremely crowded. If you want more space and privacy, head over to South Beach or Key Biscayne. Here's what else you can do:
Go to one of the many beach bars in South Beach. These offer great food options, drinks with views of the ocean, and people watching at its finest!
Take a dip in one of these pools with your friends or family members! You can even rent out cabanas for some extra privacy if desired!
My trip to Miami a success, I was only there for a few days but managed to get SO much done. Although, it's been a couple of years since my trip, I cannot wait to go back and explore. I already have a new hotel to stay at in mind, nothing beats an amazing view.
